Kate Clarke is a graphic designer and printmaker with a passion for colour and pattern.
Her designs are inspired by aerial photography, drone shots and maps. They begin as sketches of anything from a row of treetops, skylights on buildings to plough lines on a field.
She uses an experimental screen printing process which involves building up layers of colour, shape and pattern to create unique, abstract compositions. She really enjoys this element of ‘play’ in her work.
Kate is fascinated by the way colours interact with one another. Her work stems from the theory that ‘colour makes people happy’ and wants her work to do just that.
